Honestly at first I didn't really have a reason. I was just getting ideas on my Pinterest and saw a few sketch ideas and thought I could make something really beautiful. Then it kind of turned into a thing I painted. And since my first art show I’ve been told numerous times “More naked ladies!” so I continue on.

Painting and sketching the female body has become more of a statement for me. It’s not just about creating an image, it’s about presence. The female form can make some people feel empowered, while it makes others uncomfortable, and I think that tension is powerful itself.

To me, the body, my body, represents so many layers at once: sexuality, power, self-love, identity, vulnerability, and strength. Women in general inspire me, and my art is a way of showing that.

My overall theme in my art has always been very feminine. It shows up in everything I create, whether I’m painting flowers, butterflies, women, or even feline. Each piece I hope shows a reflection of how I see beauty, softness, and strength intertwining.

For example, my painting Frolic Freely is about being free, being yourself, being reborn, and opening yourself up to new experiences. On the other hand, Rise Relentlessly is a darker feminine work, about rising up no matter the circumstances, and finding the strength to start again.

I believe the eye is in the beholder, and I want everyone who looks at my art, female figures specifically, to find a message that resonates with them. For a lot of women, we go through so much and are often overlooked. But let’s be honest, it’s a woman’s world, and it’s time we stop shaming ourselves for loving ourselves.

Being comfortable in your skin, being confident, is an art in itself. When I paint the female form, I try to capture that. The different angles of what it means to be confident, love, endure, and rise.

And on that note, I’m off to paint for naked ladies lol.
